Chiropractic Therapy in Farmington, Michigan

Chiropractic physical therapy is a crucial factor in treating musculoskeletal injuries. As a family chiropractic center, we custom design our programs for all ages.  At Dean Chiropractic, we custom design chiropractic physical therapy programs for our patients depending on the condition that requires treatment and the overall health of the patient.  These chiropractic physical therapy programs can often be performed by the patient in the comfort of his or her own home.  This not only saves the patient money and visits on their insurance but also allows our patients the convenience of performing these stretches and exercises when it is most convenient for them.  Our individualized PT programs are emailed to patients complete with videos demonstrating the proper technique and set up.  Any additional equipment is also provided for the patient.

Spinal Orthotics in Farmington, Michigan

Spinal orthotics are one option for lower back pain relief products we use at Dean Chiropractic in order to reduce pain and achieve long-term corrections of a variety of spinal abnormalities. Spinal orthotics are frequently used for the neck and mid back as well.  They are used primarily to improve the curvature (aka lordosis) in the spine that is responsible for evenly distributing the body’s load throughout the spine.  Abnormal curvatures in the spine, such as exaggerated curves or the loss of a curve, are some of the more frequently seen postural issues that lead to neck and low back pain, degenerative arthritis, and other disc injuries.

Activator Method in Farmington, Michigan

Using Activator Method, the back and spine specialists at Dean Chiropractic begin by asking the patient to perform test maneuvers, such as placing an arm across the lower back or turning your head to the side, and look for subtle shifts in the muscles along the spine which indicate where a spinal joint is stuck, or subluxated. Once a subluxated joint is identified, the doctor then uses a hand-held rubber tipped instrument to apply a gentle force that restores the joint to its normal position and movement. No twisting, jerking or cracking of the spine is ever necessary.

Decompression in Farmington, Michigan

As back and spine specialists, our doctors at Dean Chiropractic treat many patients with disease of spinal discs. Intervertebral, otherwise known as spinal, discs are soft spacers between vertebrae, or bones of the spine, that allow movement of the spinal joints. Over time, repeated injuries and bad posture damage these discs and cause them to dry out, losing their flexibility. This disc failure can cause severe and chronic low back pain, neck pain, or sciatica (severe, disabling buttock and leg pain). Rehydrating, or pulling fluid back into, the disc can stop and even reverse this damage, eliminating the pain without the need for back surgery. In order to accomplish this, the back and spine specialists at Dean Chiropractic utilize a disc decompression procedure called Cox Flexion/distraction.
